Our Vineyard Manager, Daryl Bagley, has recently been diagnosed with terminal stage four lung cancer that has metastasized to his brain and adrenal glands. Daryl has been in the Virginia wine industry for over 25 years working to grow Virginia tourism and to produce some of the best fruit to ever come out of this state. Agricultural work doesn’t always leave one in the best financial circumstances and unfortunately Daryl does not have any life insurance to support his wife and girls.
With that in mind, we at Keswick Vineyards are hosting a benefit event for Daryl and his family on July 9th, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. We have had amazing support from the wine industry and local community providing us with some exceptional items to be used in a silent and/or live auction including some rare wine lots (including signed bottles by Dave Mathews), great packages from hotels and B&B’s, professional chefs, classes and lots more. There has been an amazing response and we are very pleased to be part of such a wonderful community so willing to help this special family that is suffering so much right now.
This very special evening will certainly be memorable to all and we encourage everyone to join us for this great cause. The goal of course is to raise money for Daryl’s family, so do come with generosity in your hearts.
In addition to the silent and live auction Jazz musician, Joshua Walker, will be playing live all evening. Harvest Moon has generously offered to cater the event with heavy hors d’oeuvres, and of course there will be plenty of wine! The live auction, being called by our very own Stephen Barnard, will begin at 8:00 pm and the silent auction will end at 8:30 pm.
Please RSVP to Kris at email@example.com or (434) 244-3341. The cost is $25.00 per person and payment is expected at time of RSVP.
We look forward to sharing this evening with all of you and making a great success of this event!
